I am a firm believer in skills-building and laying a strong foundation in sewing. This little pouch is the perfect project for you to hone your zipper skills! The design was deliberately kept simple so that all the attention is on striving for the perfect zipper end results. The Sakura Coin Pouch is an ideal project for anyone who wish to try this technique, even for complete beginners. The pattern also offers you a great opportunity to try stitching out a reverse appliqué around the Sakura flowers cut-outs! Cutting machine enthusiasts can have some fun with this option too as SVG files are included!

I recently came across a unique zipper installation method by a lady on Youtube (PegaPega Fofurices) where there was no need for zipper tabs to create neat zipper ends. The results were beautiful curved ends and I was intrigued. Unfortunately, the instructions were not in English and it took a couple of trial and error to truly perfect the method. I hope that by sharing this method in English, more people would be able to benefit from this unique way of zipper installation.
